In the following section you will find a simple explanation about what is the CAP:

This course is the Certificate of Professional Competence, mandatory to be able to circulate on public roads Spanish. Beginning in 2008, the CAP has been a certificate required to drive legally for both corporate as well as for the transport of goods. There are two types of courses CAP: the courses of initial training (must be done by those drivers who obtain the permission of the categories D1, D, D+E, or of a permit recognized as equivalent as of 11 September 2008, and the categories C1, C, C+E, or of a permit is recognised as equivalent, from September 11, 2009), and the continuing education courses or renewal (must be carried out by those drivers who are exempt from taking the initial qualification, depending on the following criteria:

The courses of initial training CAP have a duration of 130 hours of lectures and 10 hours of practices, that is to say, a total of 140 hours. It is obligatory attendance, and is a face-to-face. To differentiate from the driving license as you can get without going to class, the CAP establishes the obligation of attending the course. The initial training is twice as long, so normally it performs an initial training “accelerated”. The Ministry of public works issued the Certificate of Professional Competence by the Ministries of Transport of the different Autonomous Communities, (in our case, we were subject to the section of transport of the Ministry of the Valencian Community) therefore, drivers who transport goods or passengers shall, every five years, go through some training classes. These courses continuous training consist of 35 hours theory without practice is mandatory and without examination. The courses of renewal and/or continuing training are face-to-face and must-attend.

To obtain the certificate it is necessary to pass a test before six monthsafter doing a training course. The exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions with four possible answers. The wrong answers are penalized with a 0.5, the not answered not graded while the right ones are worth 1 point. To be able to approve it is necessary to at least a minimum score of 50 points. The call for papers for the exams will be done at least 6 times a year by the Autonomous Communities concerned. Applicants will be able to perform the training courses in any part of the national territory as long as they are centres authorised by the regional administration.

Those people who have the CAP passenger transport (bus, for example) and you need to remove the CAP transport of goods does not have to do the full course or the exam; you can make a “bridge course” of 35 hours with a corresponding examination (with fewer questions). The same would be true in the reverse situation.
